If you're trying to log in and can't it is because for some reason all Mojang servers are down. This site is usually correct and lets us know when the servers are down: https://help.mojang.com/ . Unfortunately it also seems to not be working so a better option would be this one: http://xpaw.ru/mcstatus/ . Hopefully things will be mended in not too long!

Everything should be back on track now.
